What am I looking at? Is that all custom or based off a foreign market ute (Mexico maybe)?

Looks like a Smyth kit. I really want to do that with my Charger.

Someone put some work into that.
Ah NB 405, either a breeze or hell, depending on the time of day. Took me 90 minutes to get from Bellevue to Kent yesterday, love it.

Looks kinda like a modified VW Saveiro, with aftermarket tail lights and a roll pan.
Living in San Diego, we get a lot of Renaul ts , Peugeots and Latin American only VWs from people shopping from Mexico.
I’ve seen quite a few of those VW car truck things, though this thing may not quite be that.

I’d like to take credit for this, but you know my craftsmanship wouldn’t even be a quarter as good as this. :D

Yeah, you can buy a kit from Smyth for like 3k. A few weekends and a thousand bucks for a Mk4 whatever and you’ve got yourself a ute. I might do one eventually.

A smyth charger, with a manual trans, and a 13+ challenger interior is my dream truck.

I’ve been planning one for a while. My Charger is a 2008 police car with only 80k miles, has lots of rough bits on it though. So I figured it’s a perfect candidate. I would add the SRT front end and maybe a sunroof. Upgrade the rear window to sliding spec. I would want a manual but would probably only swap if the auto starts to fail.

A shame, the C-pillar mk4 is a good looking piece of auto design. There are so many other cars that would be more improved by hacking up.

I’ve been overwhelmed with all the utes down here in the Yucatan so I wouldn’t be surprised if some make their way up there. Who needs a kit when you can just buy and drive one from it’s home country (idk which VWs are still hecho en Mexico)
